Collins Joe is transforming Africa's digital economy through innovative fintech solutions. Born June 28, 2004 in Ghana's Volta Region, his technological journey began at age 12 when he built his first computer from spare parts. This early passion evolved into a mission to leverage technology for Africa's development.
While still a high school student at Ghana Senior High School, Collins co-founded his first startup Xtottel Ltd in 2019, a tech innovation hub developing African solutions in AI and IoT. At 18, he launched Xtopay, a cross-border payment solution that would later be acquired by a Pan-African payments group in 2023.
His flagship venture Sendexa, founded in 2021 while studying Computer Science at the University of Ghana, has become one of West Africa's fastest-growing fintech platforms. Sendexa's blockchain integration has reduced intra-African remittance costs to just 1.5%, serving over 500,000 users across 12 countries.
Collins' work has been featured in TechCrunch, Quartz Africa, and BBC Focus on Africa. He's received numerous accolades including the 2023 Africa Fintech Award and was named to Forbes Africa's 30 Under 30 list. A sought-after speaker, Collins has presented at the Mobile World Congress Africa, Africa Tech Summit, and Harvard Africa Business Conference.
